Welcome to the Young Agro-Green Africa Network (YAGANET), the hope of climate justice, dedicated to eco-friendly community-led initiatives empowering communities to lead in transforming agricultural systems, ensuring food and nutrition security, access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and fostering Green Business resilience and sustainable economic development among young people and women in the face of climate change. At YAGANET, we amplify community voices and actions in the global fight against climate change, ensuring their needs and perspectives are at the forefront of climate justice efforts. Recognizing that disproportionate impact of climate change on poor communities, our programs also address the interconnectedness between climate change, gender dynamics, and financial inclusion. By promoting gender equality and empowering women and youth recover from extreme weather events and climate-related emergencies, our advocacy efforts highlight the importance of inclusive practices including access to financial services and marketable green skills innovations that enhances resilience in a changing world. In Uganda's Rwenzori sub-region, communities face economic limitations, climate change impacts, gender disparities, and rely heavily on natural resources. Founded in 2016, Young Agro-Green Africa Network (YAGANET) integrates climate change into all facets of community development. By promoting sustainable farming, eco-friendly economic empowerment, and food security. Offering mentorships, green skills innovation, and advocating for inclusive nutrition and access to water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) practices, recognizing their critical role in enhancing community resilience to climate-related challenges. YAGANET's holistic approach addresses the intersectionality of climate change, agribusiness, green-entrepreneurship and WASH practices, fostering a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future for all young people in the region and Uganda at large.
