- Definitions:
- YAGA: Youth Adult Gaming Association, owners of the Scions LARP (Live Action Roleplaying Game).
- Scions: Scions LARP Product, produced and owned by YAGA

- Licensee: Anyone leasing a license to a YAGA Product.
- Chapter: Organizational Unit assigned to the Licensee by YAGA for use in the Scions game. A Licensee may own multiple separate chapters of Scions and each operates as an independent entity for purposes of this Charter.
- Sub-Chapter: Unique branch of a Chapter, but which is counted as part of the main Chapter for purposes of this document.
- Territory: Location designated as operations area for the Chapter.
- Plot: Storyline used in a Scions Game
- Event: Any Scions related activity.
- Rulebook: Most current edition of the Scions Rulebook.
- Character: The main character ‘account’ for a Player or an alternate.
- Business Policy
- Licensure to run a Scions Chapter is given to the Licensee for the duration of the Charter. Charter does not confer any ties to YAGA other than a license to use the products specified.
- Licensee is responsible for any related fees, including but not limited to: taxes, business licensure, insurance and all other liabilities.
- YAGA is not liable for any expenses the Licensee incurs, including but not limited to lawsuits and/or fines, even if expenses occur as a direct result of a YAGA product.
- YAGA reserves the right to revoke this charter at any time for any reason. If such termination is desired, written notice will be provided to the Licensee one month prior to the termination date. If this option is exercised, all fees owed to YAGA by the licensee at that time must be paid by the time the termination takes effect.
- If agreed upon by both YAGA and the Licensee, the license may be terminated in less than one month upon written notice and payment of accrued fees.
- Licensee may terminate the license at any time. If this option is exercised, written notice must be given at least one month prior to termination date. At or before time of termination, all incurred fees must be paid in full.
- Prior to being granted a license, the Licensee is required to prove reasonable assurance of legal business operation. This may include, but is not necessarily limited to:
- Business License
- Licensee must be a legal business allowed to conduct business in their Territory.
- Proof of Liability Insurance
- Liability insurance covering potential injuries is required.
- Medical release forms and onsite emergency personnel are recommended.
- Federal Employee Identification Numbers (EIN)
- City/County usage permits
- Some areas require permits in order to conduct activities within their limits. It is the responsibility of the licensee to determine if this applies to them and get the permits if required.
- Licensee is required to maintain all legal records and filings in order to continue operations. YAGA is not responsible for any fines or lawsuits arising from the Licensee failing to do so.
- Licensee may be granted a temporary Charter if business papers are pending and YAGA has reasonable assurance that Licensee will acquire them in a reasonable amount of time and before the first event is run.
- YAGA has the right to suspend or terminate the License immediately if the Licensee is suspected of violating any part of the Charter agreement.
- Chapter must follow all rules contained in the Rulebook.
- Updates to the Rulebook will be given with as much advance notice as YAGA deems reasonable.
- If a Chapter is unable for any reason to follow the most current edition of the Rulebook, permission from YAGA is required to run with an earlier edition.
- A “grace period” of two weeks is allowed from time of notice for chapters to comply with the new Rulebook. An extension may be posted by YAGA, at its discretion, if changes are extensive enough to warrant additional compliance time.
- Territory
- All Chapters are given an area within they must keep their operations.
- No recruiting activities or events may be conducted outside of the Chapter’s Territory without permission from YAGA.
- Any recruiting and/or events conducted inside another chapter’s Territory require the express permission of both YAGA and the Licensee of the other Chapter.
- Experience/Character Policy
- Character Experience (XP Chits) granted at an Event must follow the guidelines given in the Rulebook.
- Players may have one additional XP Chit (as defined in the Rulebook) in one Chapter per month. This must be paid for with CTAGs earned from the Chapter issuing the XP.
- Players may be given one additional XP Chit per year per Chapter at Chapter discretion. This is intended for compensation for insurance and/or annual fees assessed to the Player by the Chapter.
- The Licensee is required to pay a fee of $1 to YAGA per XP chit issued. XP chits issued under IV.B. are exempt from this fee.
- XP is only to be issued to Characters participating in a Chapter sanctioned game Event. Weapons practices, recruiting activities and the like are not counted as “Games” and therefore may not have XP issued to attendees.
- Treasure Policy
- Definitions:
- Game: Any Scions Game sponsored by the Chapter
- Game Day: Game with length less than 24 hours, or an up to 24 hour period of time in a longer event
- Character Level: Level of all Player Characters attending the Event. Non-Player characters do not count towards the total.
- Character Count: Number of Player Characters attending the Event. Non-Player Characters do not count towards the total.
- Treasure is to be issued according to the following policy:
- Fifty Copper per Character Level is to be given out during the course of each Game Day
- Two Production Points worth of items (as defined by Rulebook) per character level is to be given out during the course of each Game Day.
- One Major ATP item (as defined by rulebook) is to be given out per 50 Characters per Game Day.
- One Minor ATP item (as defined by rulebook) is to be given out per 10 Characters per Game Day
- One SIP points worth of items (as defined by rulebook) is to be given out per 10 Character Levels per Game Day.
- Chapter Specific items may be given on a limited basis in addition to the above, but these items must be clearly marked. Chapter Specific items are only allowed to be transferred to another Chapter at the discretion of YAGA, the Chapter that issued the item, and the Chapter the item is to be transferred into.
- Player made items, either through the Production or ATP systems (as defined in the rulebook) are not counted as part of Treasure Policy and are not limited by these rules.
- Treasure may be adjusted slightly from Game Day to Game Day, but should balance out within a few Game Day’s worth of time.
- In the event that a Chapter doesn’t have enough Character Count or Player Levels to give out an appropriate item, a “running total” should be used so that those items go out over a period of Game Days (ie., after enough Game Days have run so there have been 50 Character Count, a Major ATP item should be given out).
- Treasure Policy Logs must be kept current.
- At YAGA’s request, the Treasure Policy Logs will be Audited in order to confirm compliance with the Treasure Policy.
- Any items issued to a character except those falling into section 6 above are transferable to other Chapters. All Chapters are required to accept items if a Character is transferred.
- Treasure may not be given out at non-game Events, such as Fighter Practices or recruiting activities.
- Plot Policy
- All Plotlines must conform to YAGA standards. This includes, but is not limited to:
- All Race Packets must be followed
- Plotlines should not conflict with existing Lore
- Plotlines may not affect a Plotline in another Chapter without that Chapter’s permission.
- Plotlines must exist in the “Game Universe” detailed in the Rulebook and YAGA approved supplementary materials (Lore, Sourcebooks, etc)
- Any Chapter wishing to run Plotlines that violate the above must obtain permission from YAGA before doing so. YAGA will reply within two weeks of the request date with an approval or denial.
- If a Plotline is run against section A above, the Licensee must terminate the Plotline immediately. Alternatively, they may immediately file a plan of action to correct the Plotline without disrupting the current campaign. YAGA reserves the right to accept or deny the alternate plan. If denial occurs, the Plotline must be terminated immediately.
- Conflict Resolution
- YAGA will be the final authority on all conflicts between Chapters.
- YAGA will be the final authority on any conflicts involving a Player if it is either deemed by YAGA to be a problem to YAGA operations or if the Player requests such.
- Staffing issues are only under the discretion of YAGA if it is determined by YAGA that the conflict will be detrimental to YAGA operations.
- If a formal resolution is made by YAGA, the Chapter has one week to comply with the resolution. A longer time may be granted by YAGA at its discretion
- Staffing issues are the responsibility of the Licensee. Any conflicts that don’t involve a Player or another YAGA Licensee are to be resolved by the Licensee directly unless YAGA determines that they are detrimental to YAGA operations.
- Staffing issues may be arbitrated by YAGA at the request of the licensee. YAGA may choose to accept or deny the request for arbitration at its discretion.
- Weapon Guidelines
- All weapons used in an Event must follow the guidelines presented in the rulebook.
- In any instance where a weapon is questionable, safety is the main priority.
- If a Chapter has an abnormal number of injuries reported, an investigation may be initiated by YAGA, and an immediate suspension may occur.
