Pathways Rulebook
YAGANet

The race known as the Rinn are generally assumed to have had the most profound impact on other races. This is mostly due to the construction of the Pathways, which - although created by a subspecies - is generally attributed as a Rinn creation.

The majority of Rinn are hardworking and very focused with whatever tasks they choose to work on. Most Rinn are specialists, preferring to master an area rather than dabble in several. This causes the Rinn to have borderline obsessive personality traits, although not to the extent that it impairs their mental state. Also, despite this tendency, they still acknowledge the impact of other fields of study and frequently group with others whose skills complement the areas they're weak in. This has led many other races to assume that they're good at *EVERYTHING*, because they work so seamlessly with each other that it appears each member of a group is doing each individual task. Although Rinn have racist tendencies, as they have had more contact with other species they have learned to recognize the inherent values and skills of other races and are increasingly working with them. Generally, however, most organizations have either a large concentration of Rinn with a few outsiders or a small concentration of Rinn inside a larger organization of other species.

Rinn are extremely clan oriented, and many of them can trace their lineage back several generations. In most cultures this designates rivalries, but the Rinn have adopted a process of intermarriage between clans in order to help keep the peace. Given the relatively small number of Rinn in the universe (when compared to more prolific races such as the Orks) they seldom engage in warfare anyways - but interclan marriage helps renew the bonds of race and culture. Rinn all adopt a clan tattoo upon their adulthood ritual (this varies by clan) although this tattoo takes many forms between clans and even individual members of the same clan. For example, a clan which uses fire as it's primary symbol may have one member with an elaborately detailed flame on their cheek, whereas another member of the same clan may have a stylized flame tattooed as a border around their upper arm. Generally each clan adopts a color, sometimes two, and these colors are usually very bright and vivid - Basic colors (Red, Blue, Green, Purple) are usually favored over other colors (maroon, burgundy, midnight blue) for this purpose, although even then individuals use variations. Most Rinn prefer darker colors, although bold (burgundies, teals, etc) with the clan color brighter, so it is usually fairly easy to identify a Rinn's clan color simply by looking at them.

Rinn are gifted at all facets of the mystic arts, and as such they spend one point less on Mystic Prerequisites. However, this mental aptitude leaves them less likely to learn the arts of war, so they must spend one extra point on any melee weapons they choose to use.

Costuming/Makeup:
Rinn all have pointed ears which must be represented with prosthetics. In addition, all Rinn have clan marking tattoos which must be represented with some form of makeup. The dominant colors of their clan markings will also figure prominently in their clothing, although this varies from individual to individual.
