Pathways Rulebook
YAGANet

In order to facilitate the safe operations of YAGA LARPs, the following policies are in place. Local chapters may have slight deviations from the policies listed below, please consult them where applicable. These rules are critical, and violations of these may result in your removal from the game. Please note that even if things are not listed, common sense should always be your guide - Play Safe. Anyone who witnesses any of the actions listed below should report them to a Guide for disciplinary action.

  1. SAFETY. Safety is the number one concern in all things. Guides are granted discretionary powers to judge whether or not any given action or situation is Safe or Unsafe. Any player found repeatedly encouraging Unsafe conduct or situations will be first granted a warning and the Guide will place a Yellow sticker on the player's character card. If a Yellow Sticker is already in place, the player will be placed on 6 hour restriction, and not allowed to do anything beyond roleplay, and a second sticker will be added. If found again having two stickers, the player will be removed from the event. Anyone removed from two events within a year of each other will have their membership suspended for a period no less than six months. Guides may, at their discretion, choose to simply give a verbal warning as a cautionary measure, if it is felt that the safety offense is not serious.
  2. BODY CONTACT. Many skills require body contact. This should be represented as a hand touching the shoulder excepting the following: At no time will unwelcome body contact be condoned. It is the recommendation of YAGA that players simply hold their hand within a foot of the player they wish to roleplay body contact with and describe their actions, or use a YAGA-safe weapon to phys-rep their actions. Anyone found violating this rule will be immediately given a warning and a Red Sticker will be placed on their character card. If they already have one, they will be removed from the event. Repeat offenders may have their membership revoked at the discretion of YAGA staff. Any body contact that is not conducive to a family-oriented game or description of body contact that is unwelcome by any of the players involved can also be considered an actionable offense.
  3. CHARGING. Any player that moves in such a way as to place themselves within touching distance during combat will be considered to be Charging. The person doing the moving will be the ruler judged by. Charging is an actionable Safety offense.
  4. DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. At no time *EVER* will illegal drugs or alcohol be condoned at a YaGA-sanctioned activity. Violations will result in immediate removal from game (and referral to authorities if appropriate) - No exceptions. Multiple violations will result in long-term suspension from the game in ALL chapters. Note also that players are not allowed to come to games intoxicated or high as well.
