Name: Eraen, Goddess of Wildlife, Forests, and Plants.
Appearance: A white doe, a green haired Rinn woman dressed in furs or leaves.
Worship: Worship: The Wild Mother is everything from softly scented flowers and twittering birdsong, to ancient trees and the haunting howl of a wolf. She represents the gentler, nurturing side of nature, the fertile and vibrant life of planets. Her followers usually wear simple, durable clothing good for gardening or battle, and spend much of their time protecting the eldest forests or spreading the wisdom of living in harmony with wildlife rather than fighting or destroying it. Like Garguth, she hates necromancy, but she also teaches that discord is just as bad, if not worse. According to her children, discord corrupts, kills, sickens... and that far outweighs whatever benefits it may have. Most believe that even if using discord saved your life, the decaying taint it leaves causes ripples through the lifeforms in the area, destroying more than you helped. She encourages her children to try to persuade repeatedly offending discord casters to change their ways rather than take violent action against them, though there are some extremists who shoot first and ask questions later. Basically, followers of Eraen can be as patient and gentle as those of Silveen, or as fierce in their causes as those of Fiera or Rend.
Other Gods: Naturally on very good terms with Orn, Silveen, and her brother Sond. She detests Rend, as most of the gods do.
Personality: Usually laid back and down to earth, with a motherly protectiveness over her followers.
Name: Fiera; Goddess of Fire, Justice, Passion, and Vengeance.
Appearance: Usually portrayed as a Rinn woman with long hair made of flames; or a giant winged wolf made completely of fire.
Worship: Unlike some less well-rounded deities, Fiera is worshipped by Rinn and Non-Rinn alike. She encourages followers of all races, genders, and occupations to respect the power and beauty of fire. Different clans tend to harbor different opinions of The Lady Of Embers. Rinn of ice clans think of her as indifferent to her worshipers because she never appears in person on the mortal plane, and rarely ever directly involves herself in the problems of her people. Those who follow her take great offense to this and say that in reality, she works through visions and dreams, sending her more devout followers to help those in need. It's not all that uncommon for the victim of a mugging to be rescued by a furry with a blow torch, or a small world to find fiery tattooed Rinn joining the fight to overthrow their cruel ruler. Fiera teaches her children to protect and avenge the innocent, and to always speak their mind and discourage lies. She hates racism and prejudice in all of it's forms and thus most those who practice her teachings do as well. Despite her fierce hatred of cruelty and bigotry, Fiera also preaches mercy to those who have been coerced into committing evil acts or wish to change. Her worshipers range from revolutionaries, warriors, and rebels, to artists, poets, and pyromaniacs. Not all of them follow every one of the Goddess's ideals, but the one common trait they seem to share is a strong will and a devotion to protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
Other Gods: It's sometimes whispered through religious circles that Fiera secretly carries a torch for Risirr, the Laughing Shadow, though it isn't known if he reciprocates. The hatred between her and Rend is no secret, however, as he represents the mindless destruction and tyranny she so hates, and it doesn't help that he believes himself to be a much better candidate for a fire god. There's naturally some mutual tension with Isikil as well, but unexpectedly enough Fiera and Orn get along wonderfully for opposed elements.
Personality: While it's true that she doesn't usually get directly involved, when something happens that causes a great deal of innocent people to die or has the potential to do so, it catches her attention. She believes that gods smiting evil themselves is coddling mortals, and they'll just grow to be weak, silly, and too dependent. Still, it doesn't stop her from helping in some way when needed, though she tries to be subtle about it.
Name: Garguth; God of Earth, Underground, and Death.
Appearance: Typically portrayed as a tall mountain with a stern male face; or a muscular male bear furry made of stone.
Worship: Worshipped almost exclusively by Rinn of earth or rock clans, and in some cases by those who live underground. Unlike gentle Eraen, Garguth represents the neutrality of nature and the balance of life and death, and his worshipers are usually fiercly opposed to undead, but they generally frown upon cloning chips as well. They don't have any problem with magical or natural healing however, for prolonging life is not quite the same as defying death. Individual worshipers often debate on whether technological healing is right, since it is not part of the natural rhythm of the planet like many say harmonics and herbs are, and the controversy doesn't look as though it will end anytime soon. Children of Garguth are indifferent to use of discord in general, but will kill those they see or even hear of raising the dead on sight...sometimes without any more proof than the word of a stranger.
Other Gods: Neutral in nearly every way, Garguth has only one true enemy, though the Wild Mother and Fiera's protection of the weak who usually just die out can be annoying. He doesn't dislike them, but their meddling does interfere with the order of things. Rend's endorsement of necromancy and undead enrages Garguth, but the Stone God does little about it, busy with preserving the Great Cycle in his own way.
Personality: Seen by all as being as unyielding and impassive as the stone he resembles, it's not too far from the truth. Death is not something to fear, it is simply inevitable, and when your time comes, you should accept it. He encourages people to always bury their dead.
Name: Isikil, Goddess of Ice, Cold, and Hatred.
Appearance: A strikingly beautiful cat furry made of ice; a stunning human woman with snowy white skin and blue hair.
Worship: Spurned lovers of all races turn to Isikil, and through primarily female, males have also felt her cold bite hardening their hearts, and most of her followers are celibate. They care little for petty acts of vengeance, though they've been known to kill people to keep them from getting too close to them. Less extreme worshipers are simply quiet and calculating, though Isikil rarely appeals to the merciful. Her people build temples to her in great, icy caverns and guard the snowy, coldest regions in the world. Anyone who wishes to settle or travel through such areas must pay homage or face a band of angry Isikilists armed with ice swords, enchanted guns, and trained polar bears. Needless to say, they detest intruders, and anyone interrupting or witnessing their temple rituals is never seen or heard from again. Unfortunately, this arouses all sorts of curiousity about what exactly they're doing...
Other Gods: Though Fiera simply dislikes her, Isikil despises the fire goddess and tries to thwart her plans whenever possible, provided she can do so without making it look like she was the one responsible. She cares little about the good or evil of other deities, and has even been attempting an alliance with Rend. Though Risirr shares her views on good and evil, she finds him untrustworthy and ridiculous, and he couldn't care less. She thinks Silveen is a silly, weak little twit.
Personality: Cruel, cold, and occasionally sadistic, Isikil appears on the mortal planes on very rare occasions to help her followers with major threats (she and her worshipers may have different definitions of that) and to oversee the construction of temples in her name.
Name: mordekai; God of Fear, Madness, and Nightmares.
Appearance: Varies. He is normally portrayed as something eerie and frightening.
Worship: The looming, malicious presence that children know waits in their closet, the half-remembered nightmare that wakes you trembling and covered in a sheen of cold sweat, the nonsensical wail of a raving madman, the terror that grips the heart of a villager as the hoard of mongrels descends upon his doomed home...mordekai encompasses all of this. He teaches his people that everyone belongs to the Mad One deep down, for even the most devoted Cleric of Sond has something that he fears. This makes his clerics that preach this openly quite unpopular with those devoted to other deities, though not all of his followers are foolish enough to say so anywhere but within their own twisted minds. A sane Shard of mordekai is a rare find (sane clerics are more common), and though not all of them are evil, most are. Though their god is delighted by the terror that Rend spreads with his mass murders, worshippers of the Mad One prefer not to kill. Fear is where their master's power lies, and torturing their enemies or stranding them wounded somewhere produces more terror than simply murdering them.
Other Gods: mordekai cares little about the other deities, and most of the good ones look upon him scornfully, though none actually hate him. Silveen pities him.
Personality: Insane. mordekai sends nightmares to both his most loyal followers and those who displease him, and can be cheerful and friendly one moment, then monstrous and terrifying the next.
Name: Orn, God of the Sea; Knowledge, and the Moon.
Appearance: An indigo blue sea-serpent, a silver owl with indigo eyes.
Worship: Worshipers of Orn tend to be tranquil and passive, until angered. Then they can rival the most defiant Knight of Fiera in rage. Creatures of the sea and land alike seek his guidance, from lycanthropes to sages. Riddles, puzzles, and collecting tomes of ancient lore are favored past-times, and they usually prefer mystical power over weapons. Their speech is usually eloquent and their clothing elegant but functional, though the younger generation may vary in this. Orn encourages his worshipers to learn as much as they can about their enemy before facing them, and that knowledge is power.
Other Gods: Eraen is his much beloved wife, and Fiera a trusted ally, as well as Sond. Rend is neither friend nor enemy, though Orn isn't notoriously fond of him.
Personality: A scholarly old god, Orn tries to stay out of the affairs of the mortal realm and the quibbling of the rest of the pantheon, though he does record their every move in his book for history's sake.
Name: Rend, God of Destruction, Evil Undead, War, and Necromancy.
Appearance: Giant, demonic monster with red and black hide; an incredibly tall man with matted blood in his hair and blood red, pupil-less eyes.
Worship: Tyrants, murderers, fanatic soldiers, mad-men, and necromancers could all follow the dark path of destruction and violence that Rend leaves in his wake. Destruction of life, of ways of life, of hope, are his constant goals. Let no building remain standing, no dream remain unbroken, no city unpillaged, no body at rest. He is the epitome of pure evil, and his most loyal followers strive to be the same. Followers of Rend with political power often tax the townspeople to death, while sending evil necromancers to raise those who die of starvation so they could return to kill more....all the while claiming attempts to remedy the atrocities happening. Corrupt judges and police find innocent people to try and execute. Warriors of Rend slay any they encounter, only working with others if they (knowingly or not) can help them further the cause of destruction, and sometimes just mindlessly hacking away at anyone at all with barely a conscious thought, only blood lust.
Other Gods: Very few deities like Rend, and the feeling is more than mutual. He desires Fiera's position as a deity of fire, setting things ablaze often a part of pillaging cities. He HATES Silveen, yet finds himself attracted to the being with views the exact opposite of his own, and if he could find a way to corrupt and enslave her to his cause, he would do it.
Personality: Evil.
Name: Risirr, God of Shadows, Thieves, Luck, and Trickery.
Appearance: A shadowy black fox; or a tall, slender Rinn male with dark hair and a cloak of shadows.
Worship: Silver tongued and skilled in stealth, cons, and slight-of-hand, a known worshiper of Risirr is not considered the most honorable being alive. Open following of the Laughing Shadow is not forbidden, it's just difficult to put one over on someone if they know your god is famous for just that, so most followers try to keep a low profile. There are no formal temples to Risirr, though his people pay homage to him with every roll of the die or shuffling of cards. Not every worshipper of Risirr is an untrustworthy knave, some follow him simply for luck or in hopes of upping their odds in the face of unexpected danger. His dogma is very loose, though he encourages his followers to always look out for themselves, and try to come out ahead in any situation. Those who take themselves too seriously (especially authority figures) should be brought down a few pegs with a well thought out prank... provided it can be pulled off without getting caught.
Other Gods: Risirr has no true enemies, nor any allies. Good and evil means little to him, and like Orn, the tension between the other deities rarely effects him, unless he can take advantage of it somehow.
Personality: A lover of ladies, wine, and gambling, on the rare occasions Risirr does send down an avatar, they're usually in disguise and up to no good.
Name: Silveen, Goddess of Air, Love, Joy, and Beauty.
Appearance: A rainbow colored sparrow; a lithe, whispy and translucent adolescent girl of varying races.
Worship: True love conquers all, happy endings are possible, dreams come true, there is beauty in everything...these teachings are the lifesblood of the Silveen dogma. Followers of Silveen are typically young or young at heart, often wearing tinkling bells around their necks or ankles as a tribute to their goddess. Her temples are beautiful and open places with energetic music that you could dance to rather than long, ethereal hymns. Surprisingly, worshipers are just as often warriors as mystics, though they prefer not to kill if it can be avoided. Like Isikil, most of Silveen's followers are women and girls, though it's not unheard of for males in or seeking love to worship her as well. She encourages her people to take good care of their physical appearance with good grooming habits, exercise (preferably dancing) and flattering clothing, but reminds them true beauty is found within. Bitterness, hatred, and vengeance only lead to pain and sorrow, and that's no fun at all. Silveen's children are found all over as musicians, bards, artists, counselors, swashbucklers, and caregivers.
Other Gods: Eraen is like a loving mother to Silveen, and she looks on her as such, often helping defend her sacred forests and wild places. Fiera finds her amusing and admires her passion, and she in turn respects Fiera's teachings of tolerance. She thinks Rend is a bully, but doesn't take the time to violently oppose him, hate being an emotion she prefers to discourage.
Personality: Silveen is the embodiment of all the joy than can be taken in life, the personification of happiness, the steadfast determination of love. No tragedy or pain can ever seem to keep her down for any long period of time.
Name: Sond, God of Light, Good, and Loyalty.
Appearance: A male, luminescent white unicorn, a brilliant golden light.
Worship: The most widely accepted deity in any good-aligned city, his followers range from devoted commoners praying for protection from the evils of the world to die-hard defenders of honor and right. His people tend to see things in black and white, clear cut terms, immovable in their definitions of good and evil, even if those ideas vary with each individual. His more war-like followers usually specialize in the killing of undead, or track the dark deeds of Rend's more violent people and stop them. They are known to be very self righteous at times, but their pure hearts and the willingness of even his most humble children to risk their lives for others more than make up for it.
Other Gods: Allied with his sister and on good terms with Orn, his opposition of Rend is second only to Fiera's, who's followers often fight along side his to defend the innocent.
Personality: A strong and compassionate leader, Sond holds his place at the head of the pantheon
Name: Veil; Goddess of Manipulation, Corruption, and Intrigue.
Appearance: An alluring humanoid noblewoman with ivory skin and long black hair, a sleek black cat with violet eyes.
Worship: Though not as hated or widely feared as Rend's worshippers, devout followers of Veil are perhaps the most dangerous of all. Her children are liars and charmers, always knowing the precise thing to say to wound someone, and know how to say it so innocently they couldn't possibly be blamed. Her clerics are taught how to bring someone around to their way of thinking, while all the while letting their victim think it's entirely their idea. Nearly all of her worshippers are evil, and every one of her clerics are... the most important goal Veil has set for her people is to draw others onto the path of darkness. The more innocent or righteous they were before corrupted, the better. They make excellent politicians, though are well suited to any occupation where they can gain power or profit at another's expense. Felines are sacred animals to them, and they often bear tattoos of their likeness or keep them as pets.
Other Gods: Veil desires the reign over shadows that Risirr has, and also vies for the God of Destruction's rule over necromancy and undeath.
Personality: Mysterious and poised, but undeniably cruel. Many of her Shards and clerics alike share those traits.
